Highsnobiety

The power of Gorp is not slowing down and with the longer days and warmer climes of summer on the way, it’s time to actually put all that technical gear to the test. Jack Wolfskin x Highsnobiety just landed at Highsnobiety Shop, giving you the chance to round out the perfect hiking set with outerwear, bags, and headwear all on offer.

Founded in 1981, Jack Wolfskin has become a central name in the world of outdoor wear and with a string of successful collaborations under its belt, its move into the lifestyle and fashion arena is all but complete. Following a partnership with burgeoning German label GmbH which proved Jack Wolfskin’s ability to slot seamlessly into the modern wardrobe, Jack Wolfskin x Highsnobiety galvanizes the imprint as a major player in the modern Gorpcore movement.

Combining sustainable materials with top-of-the-range utility and bold, style-forward visuals is the key to this collection. Items like the Texapore Ecosphere 3L Jacket embody this approach. Cut from Jack Wolfskin’s proprietary three-layer water-resistant fabric which is made from recycled PET bottles, the jacket features a membrane manufactured from remnants of the production process to minimize waste, too.

In terms of aesthetics, the highlight piece comes in two colorways — Evergreen and Black — which both boast 3M Jack Wolfskin branding, Highsnobiety embroidery, and custom branded seam tape throughout the interior. As such, it represents much of what the collection stands for both on a level of sustainability, but also in that it balances style and utility.

Elsewhere in the collection, the Texapore fabric extends to the Kingston Backpack which lands in matching colorways with the jacket and echoes the 3M Jack Wolfskin branding as well as innovative use of recycled materials such as 100 percent recycled diamond grid polyester ripstop. For those looking to supplement their hiking gear with a smaller carrier, the side bag offers the same robustness in a smaller size. Rounding out the bags in the collection are three fully waterproof stuff bags with roll-top closures.

Finally, the cherry on top of the Jack Wolfskin x Highsnobiety capsule is the Field cap. This piece brings things back to basics; it’s simple and effective. With a five-panel Texapore build, the Field Cap is as comfortable protecting you from midday sun as it is an evening downpour.

Check out the lookbook in the galleries above and be sure to shop the collection at Highsnobiety Shop.
