Jack Wolfskin x Highsnobiety Is Peak Sustainable Gorp
If there's one trend that has overshadowed all others in recent seasons, it's undoubtedly gorpcore. From the expected specialists to the unexpected arrival of luxury houses, the style has seen uptake across the board. The outdoors-angled trend, therefore, comes in many forms nowadays but always revolves around technical builds and utility. One of the aforementioned specialists that have surfed the wave of gorpcore effortlessly is Jack Wolfskin.
Founded in 1981 in Frankfurt, Jack Wolfskin has long been a leader in outdoor wear. But while labels that have held their thrones for decades often fall off when luxury moves in, Jack Wolfskin has maintained — even increased — its clout through collaboration.
It's no news to us or our readers that collaboration is one of the best ways for a brand like Jack Wolfskin to reach new demographics and introduce a new generation to its long-earned reputation. With that said, it's also no guarantee of success. Jack Wolfskin's eye for collaboration is what really pays off. The label's recent work alongside the burgeoning fellow-German imprint GmbH was a huge success, unlocking a new chapter for Jack Wolfskin.
And the chapter after that? Jack Wolfskin x Highsnobiety.
Jack Wolfskin x Highsnobiety will launch as part of our upcoming HS Sports flagship. The collaborative capsule collection ranges from outerwear to bags and headwear, each component built on three main pillars: technology, quality, and sustainability.
Using Jack Wolfskin’s new TEXAPORE ECOSPHERE technology, the waterproof jacket acts as the highlight of the collection. The three-layer water-resistant fabric is PFC-free and built from recycled PET bottles. Combined with a membrane made from remnants of the production process, the TEXAPORE ECOSPHERE 3L Jacket embodies the approach that offers sustainability and utility in equal measures.
The Jack Wolfskin x Highsnobiety collection will be available in the Highsnobiety Shop from May 11.
