The first trailer for Sony Pictures's upcoming space terror flick, Life, has arrived — and it features Ryan Reynolds and Jake Gyllenhaal encountering some rather unfriendly martians.

Directed by Daniel Espinosa and written by Paul Wernick and Rhett Rees, Life tells the story of a six-member crew on the International Space Station that is just about to make one of the most important discoveries in the history of mankind: the first evidence of life on Mars. Of course, this being Hollywood and all, the life form proves to be far more intelligent (and dangerous) than the crew ever imagined.

The movie — which also stars Rebecca Ferguson, Olga Dihovichnaya, Ariyon Bakare and Hiroyuki Sanada — is set to hit theaters on May 26, 2017. Watch the trailer above.
