New Balance has a new "Cortado" 204L sneaker, and this one comes with a side of pumpernickel.

Well, New Balance doesn't actually serve up its 204L with a side of the hearty brown rye bread. But the shoe does indeed borrow some of its color.

Really, the upper's mesh underlay is where the "pumpernickel" comes to life, appearing in the bread's rich brown color. At the same time, the outermost layers get a dose of "cortado," bringing espresso-level flavor to the velvety suede overlays.

The "Cortado" color scheme has produced other mouthwatering New Balance sneakers, like deliciously rugged 2010 dad shoes. It has also graced the 204L before, resulting in a chocolatey flat-soled sneaker with light pink splashes (call it strawberry chocolate milk, even).

"Cortado" is now back on the NB menu, making the brand's Miu Miu-coded suede sneaker a tasty stepper once again.
