Highsnobiety

Sneakerheads are bombarded with news of upcoming releases on a daily basis. To save you some time from searching each and every site and leak account, we've taken it upon ourselves to sift through the onslaught and bring you a few noteworthy kicks that have captured our attention.

Today, we're spotlighting New Balance's latest MADE Responsibly initiative, which finds the brand releasing new sustainable iterations of the 998 crafted from surplus materials. As the sneakers are made from leftover scraps, no two pairs are exactly the same.

On the collaborative front, we have three co-branded projects to detail. First up, BEAMS' Salomon RX Slide 3.0 will soon be available, giving you yet another slip-on option to rock during the warm weather months ahead. And for a second laceless sneaker, be sure to check out Wacko Maria's latest reimagining of the Vans Slip-On.

Last but not least, HANON is back alongside Padmore & Barnes to deliver an extremely limited take on the P204 Wallabee, one that is constructed from luxe materials.

Read on to get the latest info about the New Balance MADE Responsibly 998 and more.

New Balance MADE Responsibly 998

Release Date: May 1

Where to Buy: New Balance

Editor’s Notes: Earth Month may be coming to a close, but New Balance is keeping its sustainable initiatives alive by releasing new iterations of the MADE Responsibly 998. Created as a part of the brand's MADE Responsibly program, these 998s are constructed using surplus materials to cut down on waste. Leftover scraps of pigskin overlays, body mesh, lining, laces, speedlace, molded collar straps, and sole units have been combined with new materials to deliver a one-of-a-kind sneaker, with no two pairs exactly the same.

BEAMS x Salomon RX Slide 3.0

A cushioned EVA midsole is implemented below to give the feeling like you're walking on a cloud.

Editor’s Notes: Wacko Maria draws from vinyl culture for part two of its Spring 2021 collaboration with Vault by Vans. Following an initial launch in March, the Japanese brand is back with three new colorways of the iconic Slip-On, which features a subsequent vinyl graphic in black and white. The sneaker is offered in white, brown, and purple iterations alongside matching camp collar rayon shirts.
