Miu Miu hardly makes swamp attire, but for its latest collaboration with New Balance, the Italian fashion house is taking its sneaker talents straight to the wet lands.

The 530 SL, a croc-embossed technical trainer that looks like a classic Miu Miu sneaker that went for its zoology degree, is a dual-patterned advancement of New Balance and Miu Miu's well-established collaborative lineage.

Glossy flat scale overlays add reptilian sophistication to the technical mesh that makes up the majority of the dark brown upper.

In true Miu Miu fashion, the croc-ed-up 530 SL features a double-lace mechanism. Fabric sailing cord and raw-edge leather laces reinforce the push-and-pull between technical performance and elegance radiating from the entire sneaker.

It's apex athleisure personified in a way we've yet to see from Miu Miu and New Balance, at least not to this capacity. We've seen Miu Miu go croc with shoes like the Croco-print leather ballerina, and there are many a suede 530 SL sneaker out there as well.

But this marks the first time Miu Miu has merged the two, and the results are as sublime as they are sophisticated.

Alongside this crocodile masterpiece, Miu Miu and New Balance recently debuted a technically fused flat at a swanky vinyl club during New York Fashion Week.
