Editor’s Notes: Nike’s fictional basketball team, the Roswell Rayguns, are the subject of a four-sneaker pack that is set to be released on January 15 via Nike SNKRS. The pack comprises a similarly color-blocked Air Force 1, Air Raid, Blazer Mid, and Kyrie 7.

The Roswell Rayguns were a fictional team that was the focus of a Nike ad campaign during the 2002 NBA Playoffs. The team shared the same color scheme as the sneakers above, which was originally used on a pair of Nike SB Dunks in 2005. Sandy Bodecker, the veteran Nike employee and godfather of Nike SB who passed away last year, was a big fan of the Rayguns, opting to bring the colorway to Nike SB’s premier skate shoe.

This year saw the Rayguns colorway come back on two pairs of tie-dyed Nike Dunk Lows. This pack of four sneakers features the same ’70s flair with a throwback color palette, embroidered accents, and — as Nike puts it — “other hip details.”
