Nike’s Luxe Wallabee-Flavored Sneaker Is Part Tech Runner
Nike's luxed up the Shox TL. Now, it's a "Wallabee" sneaker.
The newest "Flat Pewter" Shox TL sneaker isn't actually a Clarks collaboration. It really just features a new raised toe box, which gives it that classic moccasin-like look.
The update not only makes it look like a Clarks Wallabee mashed with Nike's famous running shoe, but it also creates this super classy version of the Shox TL.
And Nike doesn't stop at the moc aesthetic. It pretty much spruces up the model all-around. It swaps out the techy wavy uppers for clean grey leather with practically no extra stitching. And the big Swoosh logo has been minimized to simple perforations, sort of like the Tennis Classic's design.
There have been other luxe Shox models bordering formal territory, including Martine Rose's Shox mules collaboration and other leather general-release efforts. But the "Wallabee" Shox shoes are by far the dressiest.
They come in three colorways, most of which are available at overseas stores. The "Flat Pewter" might be the most exclusive of them all, as it's stocked at only a handful of stores currently. Kith Japan sells them on its website for ¥30,030 JPY, which is around $188 at current exchange rates.
