Stüssy is returning to its surfing roots and is bringing longtime collaborator Nike along for the journey.

The Californian label just previewed its newest Nike collaboration through a 40-second-long video featuring surfer Sara Taylor shredding waves aboard a Nike x Stüssy branded surfboard.

The board — featuring a purple line running along the stringer in the middle, Stüssy’s logo on the center of the nose, and Nike’s inimitable swoosh on the right-hand side — is a teaser for a new collection releasing on July 12.

Taylor is wearing orange board shorts and a black sports top, however, there’s no word yet on whether they are part of the collection (the Nike Swim Instagram account has shared Stüssy's video though, so chances are there’s some swimwear in the drop).

Stüssy and Nike’s cryptic messaging thus far means we’ll likely have to wait for the collection to release at select Stüssy and Dover Street Market locations to get the full picture of what’s included in this collaboration.

Stüssy has a rich history in surfing. Before the brand ever created clothing, its founder Shawn Stussy made surfboards with the scribbly Stüssy logo on them — the logo proved to be as much of a hit among surfers then as it is in streetwear circles today

Shawn Stussy hasn’t been associated with the brand since 1996, however, he has recently announced he is coming out of retirement and bringing back another of his old brands: S/DOUBLE.

Whether you're a fan of old Stüssy or new Stüssy (or both), one thing is for sure: there are some exciting products set to arrive in the near future.
