Editor's Notes: Thanks to its constantly evolving technology and commitment to its world-class athletes, Nike has become synonymous with speed and pushing the boundaries of human limitation. At the forefront of these commitments are its flagship running silhouettes, many of which herald from the Zoom family tree.

If you know any runners, casual or professional, you'll likely be familiar with at least one of the silhouettes that fall from this collection. Perhaps two of Nike's most popular Zoom runners, and pairs that I personally see put to use the most outdoors, are the Zoom Alphafly NEXT% and the Zoom X Vaporfly NEXT% 2.

These highly favored silhouettes rose to popularity after the Zoom Vaporfly NEXT% was worn by Kenyan Brigid Kosgei in 2019 to smash the Chicago Marathon in record time.

Fast forward to now, and Nike has revealed its latest Zoom innovation with the Zoom Fly 5, which is built to break barriers and elevate your training.

Built using a host of recycled materials, which includes a mesh upper comprised of Flyknit and minimal plastic components, the shoe exudes comfort without sacrificing any performance capabilities. There are subtle branding touches which include Nike's classic pinwheel logo at the tongue and rear, while the series' statement Swoosh has been reduced to an outline.

As of yet, the sneaker's technical details remain under wraps, but if past silhouettes are anything to go by, we should expect an extensive reveal to follow in the coming months. This 5th generation looks distinctly chunkier than previous iterations, which begs a lot of questions regarding what kind of changes have been made inside the sole unit.
