Double Tap to Zoom

The "Old Town Road" phenomenon isn't showing any signs of slowing down. Lil Nas X's record-breaking single is the definitive soundtrack of 2019 and certainly the greatest internet fodder there currently is. Beyond the virtual world, the hit song has inspired some very real-life theft. Wellesley, a Massachusetts town, reports that at least three of its "Old Town Road" signs have gone missing since Lil Nas X’s song blew up.

According to the (aptly titled) Swellesley Report, the town apparently isn’t looking to replace the signs until things cool off. Wellesley could take a leaf out of Sicamous's book, the British Columbia town which also has an Old Town Road took preemptive measures to discourage Country-Trap enthusiasts (a.k.a thieves) by selling replica signs for $25.
