Palace Skateboards

Brand: Palace Skateboards

Season: Winter 2021

Release Date: October 15 on Palace's website from 11 a.m. EDT, Dover Street Market, and Palace's global stores

Editor's Notes: How do you top a season that included custom Vans, Cannondale bikes, and a freakin' Mercedes collab? According to Palace, a cheeky play on words will do.

Well, there's much more than that on tap: akin to the bounty of riches that informed its Fall collection, Palace has plenty going on for Winter 2021. Graphic-wise, you've got lots of logos and Trifergs, a hammer-and-sickle sweater, a Celtic "P," and perhaps the standout piece, Einstein himself swigging a stein of beer.

Now, if I was being snippy, I'd point out that Palace's German is technically incorrect: "Ein Stein" would be correct and a better play on the scientist's name but, then again, it does have a fun bootleg feel to it.

Winter 2021 presents one of Palace's most impressive technical showings to date, loading up on all kinds of high-spec layering pieces and accessories.

There are GORE-TEX coats, crinkly nylon windbreakers, puffers, impressive removable pocket jackets, zippered flight pants, and some pretty dope GORE-TEX corduroy items, which is a fun hybridization of materials.

Unsurprisingly, Palace also came correct on the cozy front, serving asymmetric fleeces, floral hoodies, insulated shirts, and plenty of sweats. Phew.

It's been a bit of a banner year for Palace. I mean, I already listed some of the coolest stuff above and didn't even mention the Evisu reunion, second Stella Artois drop, new Salomon sneakers, and a Garfield plush.

While other brands are planning their post-pandemic comeback, Palace is sliding into Winter 2021 stronger than ever.

It's at the top of its game, as evidenced by this borderline overstuffed affair and the seasonal collaborations haven't even been revealed yet. Like another "genius" company, Palace knows exactly what it's doing.
