Every year, US trend-forecaster and color institute Pantone chooses a color of the year, based on "what is taking place in our global culture at a moment in time.”

2019's color of the year, a pinkish-orange hue named "Living Coral" — a somewhat controversial name choice, considering the plight of coral — was chosen for its zesty and life-affirming properties. Looking back at the state of 2019 — politically, socially, and economically — surely some positivity-inducing color palettes were exactly what we needed; it also popped as a new colorway on the "Clay" YEEZY Boost 350 V2.

For 2020, however, Pantone opted for the arguably more conservative shade of "Classic Blue" to inaugurate the new decade. The universally appealing tone was chosen by Pantone to symbolize "protection, stability, peace, and confidence, as well as encourage deep thinking, open mindfulness, and communication."

For us, the pleasing tone mirrors the color schemes of Facebook and Twitter, which for 2020 feels like an appropriate (if slightly unnerving) comment on how a color that represents natural and eternal phenomena such as the sky and the sea also carries connotations of how much time we spend — and will probably continue to spend — online. Either way, it's a thankfully wearable color that will really pop if you mix it with some monochrome pieces, too.

Below, we've rounded up some of the best products in Pantone's classic shade of blue, so you can rep 2020 in style.
