Patta’s latest Nike Air Max 1 has been given a release date. Finally.

Following the release of the “Monarch”, “Noise Aqua”, “Rush Maroon”, and black AM1s throughout 2021, Patta’s Nike wave is eventually coming back around – and we’re ready to ride it.

Slated to be arriving in two colorways, the first variation has been unveiled and is set to drop at Patta on August 12.

Decorated in the same theme as its predecessors with a wavy pattern joined by the brand’s signature motif on the tongue and sockliner, the latest Patta x AM1 arrives in an almost mahogany-like tone, with a breathable grey mesh and fuschia inner.

Aptly titled “The Next Wave” – which is inspired by the African proverb “Each One Teach One” – the accompanying campaign has been captured by US-based photographer Shaniqwa Jarvis, who enlisted the help of New York-based grill maker Eddie Plein, illustrator Aya Brown, South African DJ DBNGogo, and South African entrepreneur, Wireless G.

The second colorway is yet to be officially revealed by either brand, although it’s expected to be the crisp grey/white iteration, images of which surfaced earlier this year.

As always, community plays a central role in everything Patta does and, as such, the collection will be complemented by a two-day mentorship exchange hosted by the brand at Nike’s SHAPA Soweto community center in the south of Johannesburg.

While we await further information on the exchange and confirmation of the second sneaker release, we turn our attention to August 12, and pray it’s not another dose of L.
