Nike’s Original Sneaker Heads to Public School
Nike's original Moon Shoe has gone from the tracks to the archives to the runway. Now, it's heading to Public School. Or so it seems.
The New York label, led by designers Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne, staged their Spring/Summer 2027 presentation during fashion week. It debuted crisply tailored spring pieces with street swagger (classic Public School New York) as well as a Nike Moon Shoe collaboration.
Public School's Nike sneakers keep the signature slimmed-out, Waffle-soled look but add a ripstop Swoosh and an O-ring on the heel tab.
It's unknown whether the shoes are runway-only or will get a wider release in the spring. One thing's for sure: the Public School x Nike Moon Shoes have a ring to them. Literally.
My hopes are for a proper release. It would mean another Moon Shoe summer, between the Public School linkup and more Jacquemus collab colorways. And that's not even counting the other in-line options Nike could be potentially sitting on.
Regardless, we still have Public School's cool Air Max Goadome boots to enjoy. Following a seven-year hiatus, the brand officially returned to fashion in 2026 with a much-anticipated FW26 presentation, which included the ACG boot and dark suede Air Jordan 15s.
Word on the street is: we should be getting the Public School Air Max boots before the year is out. Then, the Moon Shoes for the new year? Fingers crossed.
