Sotheby's has enlisted Robert Pattinson, Twilight heartthrob turned Hollywood's hottest weirdo, to curate an upcoming art auction.

For this year's Contemporary Curated, Pattinson looked for pieces with one particular quality: "a presence that hums with a bit of life," he said in an interview for Sotheby's. For an actor who has admitted to lying during interviews just to "say anything at all," his curation is fittingly eclectic.

From Wayne Thiebaud to George Condo to Thomas Houseago, Pattinson's picks span a wide range of styles and mediums across the contemporary art spectrum. Major names such as Willem de Koonig, Barbara Kruger, and Andy Warhol are accompanied by the likes of Petra Cortright, Carroll Dunham, and Chloe Wise.

Other notable artists among Pattinson's favorites: Yoshitomo Nara, Josef Albers, Sol LeWitt, Helen Frankenthaler, and Amoako Boafo.

But don't bother bidding on the star's curation if all you're looking for is a good investment. "It's a strange thing, collecting... To actually cross that threshold of saying 'I actually want this integrated into my life,' it's quite odd to get there," he told Sotheby's.

"I think you need to earn it, in a way. You can't just be like, 'Oh, I want this in my house,' otherwise you're just trapping it. If you don't really understand it, you don't really deserve it."

Noted!

Contemporary Curated by Robert Pattinson is a live auction scheduled for September 30 at Sotheby's New York.
