The co-creators of Stranger Things recently revealed that not only is Season 3 in the works, but that there's a high chance Kali will also return to the cast.

At the "Stranger Things: Inside the Upside Down" panel at the Los-Angeles Vulture Festival, the cast and crew of the hit Netflix show sat down to discuss some behind-the-scenes information regarding Season 2 as well as indulging in a few insights for the season ahead.

Co-creators Matt and Ross Duffer unveiled that Eleven's 'sister' Kali, aka Eight, is likely to see a return to the show: “It would feel weird that we wouldn't resolve that storyline,” said Matt Duffer. “Chances are high that she comes back.”

Kali originally featured in one of the series' early episodes in the midst of a police pursuit. Using her image-projecting abilities, she was able to derail the cop cars and also revealed her matching tattoo to that of Eleven. Her re-appearance in Season 2 "Chapter 7: The Lost Sister", however, was a huge divide among fans and critics. In a separate plot to the main cast, many viewers were left unsure of her relevance to the main adventures of Hawkins, Indiana.

Despite its sub-plot status, Kali's presence did reveal some key background information for Eleven, namely the presence of Dr. Brenner. This could mean potential unfinished business for Kali and her gang. Although Netflix has not officially announced a new season, it's no secret that creators and viewers alike are looking for longevity.

Ross Duffer added: "We are [in] very early days on season three and we're still figuring it out," said Ross. "I probably wasn't supposed to say that… That's not official, that wasn’t an official announcement — we’re just working on it, just for our own amusement…for fun!" Let us know in the comments what you think about this potential return.

Now here's Jimmy Kimmel's hilarious 'Stranger Things' spinoff.
