The last time Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney released new music as The Black Keys was 2014’s Turn Blue. Thankfully, the American rock band is finally back, this week sharing a psychedelic jam titled "Lo/Hi."

"Lo/Hi," which was written and produced by Auerbach and Carney, was recorded at Auerbach’s Easy Eye Sound studio in Nashville, Tennessee. You can stream The Black Keys' first new song in five years above.

Just because Auerbach and Carney hadn't previously delivered any Black Keys material in years doesn't mean the musicians have been inactive. Auerbach released a solo LP, Waiting on a Song, in June of 2017, while Carney recently produced Calvin Johnson's A Wonderful Beast album.

Regardless, we certainly hope this is a sign of more to come from The Black Keys.
