A masterclass in functional maximalism combined with aesthetic minimalism, Ten c and Awake NY's 2024 collaborative jacket has well earned its standalone re-release.

The Italian brand routinely blurs geographic conventions—leaning not just on the founders’ shared and storied Italian design history, but also on their deep respect for Japanese craftsmanship.

The Skye windbreaker is a testament to the power of technical design. The anorak, which comes in various earthy-industrial tones, combines texturally pleasing crinkled nylon with Ten c's signature OJJ material, a Japanese interlock jersey fabric crafted from function-first nylon and polyester.

While it's true that the jacket recently found itself back in the spotlight after being worn by Liam Gallagher—a moment captured by the glow of tens of thousands of smartphone cameras and illuminated under the glare of high-powered arena floodlights—the re-release isn't about fleeting virality. That's just not Ten c's MO.

Instead, the return of the Skye Ten is notable for its timelessness—for choosing to look back, not with nostalgia (or anger), but mindfully. The re-release of the archival piece hinges on the brand's clear understanding of what works and why, translating that knowledge into something tactile; something that can be appreciated by the senses.

A sleek, simple silhouette, the Skye Ten Anorak avoids over-complication. With a three-pocket setup and ripstop opening, the jacket is an ode to functionality in the face of the elements and to classic styling in a world of over-the-top aesthetic tropes and a relentless drive toward constant newness.

The decision to bring back the Skye Ten makes for a bold statement from Ten c in its own way, with Enzo Fusco and Alessandro Pungetti's brand staying true to its roots.

Short for The Emperor's New Clothes, riffing on the Hans Christian Andersen folk tale, Ten C has always been about substance, not over style, but in parallel. The re-release of the Skye is proof that, over the last 15 years, that hasn't changed at all.

For a limited time, you can check out Ten c's new anorak at pop-up stores in London's Harvey Nichols or Seoul's Hyundai Department Store. Alternatively, shop it online here.
