Thundercat is back with a new track from his upcoming album, It Is What It Is, as Ty Dolla $ign and Lil B join Stephen Bruner on "Fair Chance." The song is the third single from the LP, which is due out April 3 via Brainfeeder.

“This song is about Mac… when he passed it shook the ground for the artist community,” said Bruner. “Ty’s a strong dude and when he heard the song he knew exactly what it should be. I was there when he recorded it. We talked about what it was, and he did what he felt was right to it, and I love what he did.”

Produced by Sounwave, "Fair Chance" finds Thundercat reflecting on the loss of a loved one, Mac Miller. The track accounts for one of the more somber offerings from It Is What It Is, as it follows the release of lead single “Black Qualls” with Steve Lacy and funk icon Steve Arrington, as well as “Dragonball Durag."

It Is What It Is is produced by Flying Lotus and Thundercat, with musical contributions from Childish Gambino, Kamasi Washington, BADBADNOTGOOD, Louis Cole, and Zack Fox.
