For Fall, Tommy Hilfiger is doubling down on motorsport. After a year which has seen trackside style accelerate into the collective sartorial consciousness, it seems the American king of prep is at the front of the pack when it comes to delivering race-inspired looks. Fresh from its role in F1: the Movie, the aesthetic of this new campaign shows that Tommy isn’t just flirting with speed culture: it’s betting the house on it.

This season, it's enlisted some serious A-list weight to put behind its bid for racing glory. Nicholas Hoult and Claudia Schiffer star in a campaign which puts nostalgia front and center, serving up a retro dream that’s more luxury than thrills, more buttoned-up glamour than high-octane adrenaline.

Set behind a sepia wash and layered with nostalgia, Hoult and Schiffer look like that perfect motorsport couple from the ‘60s: casual, effortless, the beating heart of a social scene. Perched on a wall of tires or leaning on a classic Shelby Ford, the pair embody a true lifestyle fantasy of the American prep world.

The clothes themselves match this classic but reinvigorated preppy dream. Versatile layers welcome in the Fall season: Oxford shirts sprout from under rugbies; classic denim jeans are given a slight trackside flare. Sweatshirts are adorned with the Tommy logo in a classic cursive font; trenchcoats, appearing in various shades and checks, are a standout feature for both men and women. As ever, argyle, plaid and check weave together the Tommy imagination.

Tommy Hilfiger, Tommy Hilfiger

For us, this Tommy campaign is perfectly timed. Motorsport is all the rage, but Tommy’s take is different. This isn’t the racy, Y2K revival we’ve been seeing so much of recently; this is slower, more deliberate, more Tommy. It harks back to a golden age of ‘cool’ not just before Spotify, but before CDs: a timeless vibe where motorsport was all gasoline and bravado, not tire pressures and tech.

This is a campaign that encourages inclusivity, self-expression. Tommy wants you to know that the Hilfiger Racing Club is open to all—you don’t need to be a part of the scene, have a racing family, or have an in-depth knowledge of motorsport politics to be a part of it. Just a drive to be involved.

The Hilfiger Racing Club is part of a wider effort from Tommy, taking traditionally exclusive industries and turning them inside out. You’re Invited: No RSVP Required is Tommy Hilfiger’s next chapter, inspired by Tommy’s own love of breaking through the most exclusive corners of the fashion world. This is a brand once more reclaiming refined aesthetics, making them not only wearable, but welcoming.
