UNIQLO: C is a UNIQLO clothing line overseen by Clare Waight Keller, former Givenchy overseer. You may not have heard of it but you've almost certainly seen it, even incidentally. Come Spring/Summer 2025, it'll become unavoidable.

UNIQLO: C debuted in 2024 and almost immediately broached virality, though it was not at all intended to.

Nevertheless, the loose-fit athleisure and militaristic shoulder bags that punctuated its crisp daily staples instantly spread across platforms like TikTok, where users rave about UNIQLO: C's sweatpants and hoodies.

Waight Keller was appointed to artistic director of UNIQLO in late 2024, perhaps in part to the swift success of UNIQLO: C. There's something to be said about how her line gets right to the heart of what UNIQLO itself aspires to represent: Uncomplicatedly fashionable classics with a covetable contemporary bent.

UNIQLO: C Spring/Summer 2025 is a tangible manifestation of it all.

You can see Waight Keller's design language in the trim tailoring, striped shirts, and lightly technical jackets, all bordering on anonymity in their quiet appeal.

UNIQLO describes the new duds as indicative of "the perfectly elevated, everyday urban uniform," which is about as broad a descriptor as imaginable.

Nevertheless, it's hardly inappropriate.

The genius of Waight Keller, which wasn't always apparent at Givenchy, is in how she distills real-world codes into fresh shapes.

The trench coats, blazers, anoraks, wool sweaters, and cargo shorts that comprise UNIQLO: C SS25 are immediately recognizable as such. At worst, you've seen this all before. But, at best, Keller finds something new in the familiar.

In a light copper hue, her zippered stand collar jacket becomes a modest statement piece. In a delicate cotton, a loose-fitting cargo pant affects the drape of formal slacks. And Waight Keller's immensely popular sweats became what they are because of their distinctly generous cut, neither too huge nor too shapeless for casual tastes.

Expect to see a lot more people wearing it come February 20, when UNIQLO: C releases on UNIQLO's website and stores.
