Double Tap to Zoom

When you think of a Vibram-soled shoe, it's hard not to picture the most rugged outdoor sneaker or boot. For Vans, sometimes a Vibram shoe could be a surprisingly dressy skate model.

Vans has cooked up a new kind of Authentic, inspired by Oxford dress shoes and wrapped in rich Horween leather. Its name? Simply, the Authentic Oxford.

The OTW Authentic Oxford looks like it has no business being at the skate park or even running in the wild. But it's equipped with a chunky trekking-style sole finished with Vibram traction, meaning it's packing some serious grip and ready for the Ivy League halls and the streets.

We've actually seen the Authentic Oxford before. OAMC helped introduce the sophisticated yet rugged model through a recent collaboration, which also included a tactical Half Cab boot.

OAMC really leaned into the shoe's utility side. But with judging by this luxe general-release effort, Vans looks to make it more on a casual classy flex (with a side of reliable rugged traction).

The leather Authentic Oxford sneakers are scheduled to release on March 31 on Vans' website for $180, in black and green colorways.
