Demna Gvasalia’s Vetements took to the runway yesterday to debut its SS19 ready-to-wear collection in Paris. The collection, which focused on Gvasalia’s upbringing during the Georgian Civil War, included billowing silhouettes, balaclava tracksuits, and the first glimpse of a new collaboration with Reebok.

Vetements and the sportswear brand have worked together intermittently since 2016, initially collaborating on an InstaPump Fury model (available at Dover Street Market). Now, the two have joined forces on another silhouette emblematic of the chunky sole trend, albeit with a typically out-there Vetements twist: it has spikes.

In all, there were four new colorways of the runner-style sneaker. Initial images show a silver/red/white pair with chrome spikes protruding from the midsole, toe-box, and heel, and a silver/blue colorway. Another two pairs matched the spikes with hand-drawn text and scribbles on the upper and midsole. A different silhouette, a white Chuck Taylor-style high top, is also scrawled over, with spikes protruding. You wouldn’t want to get kicked by any of these.

There are no official details about these sneakers as of yet, but we’ll keep you posted as and when information drops. Until then, check out the shoes above and let us know your thoughts on the collab in the comments below.
