Brand: Yuketen

Model: Jordan First and a number of other footwear styles

Key Features: The Jordan First (slide #01) features a fully-leather upper with a perforated pattern on the toe box. The leather lace stay and the forefoot and ankle overlay mimic that of the Nike Air Jordan 1, as does the shape of the toe box. The AJ1’s Swoosh is replaced by a straight leather panel but the homage is more than clear. Finishing off the design is a Goodyear-welted rubber midsole.

The gallery above also includes Yuketen styles like sandals, trekking boots, clogs, moccasins and much more.

Release Date: SS19

Price: TBC

Buy: Yuketen and select retailers

Editor’s Notes: Japanese brand Yuketen, under designer Yuki Matsuda’s tutelage, fuses traditional shoemaking techniques with progressive, adventurous designs. The culmination of that philosophy is the Jordan First high-top leather boot, a clear homage to perhaps the most iconic streetwear sneaker of all time, the Nike Air Jordan 1.

Yuketen isn’t the first to have created a high-end, more formal version of Michael Jordan’s first signature sneaker but it very well might be the most premium. Featuring a fully-leather upper, the overlays and stitching are a clear nod to the AJ1. Never one to sacrifice quality, Yuketen has outfitted its homage with a Goodyear-welted sole unit.

The Yuketen Jordan First will drop as part of the brand’s SS19 collection along a number of other styles, all of which you can check out above.
