Science fiction is full of stories of humans underestimating the power of their creations, from Frankenstein to The Terminator. But the trope of an experiment gone horribly wrong is given a sinister new spin with Morgan, an upcoming film from director Luke Scott (son of the legendary Ridley), which just dropped its first trailer.

The brief teaser raises more questions than it answers, but it is clear that some sort of super-humanoid was created, the titular Morgan, who became violent and out of control. Kate Mara, of House of Cards fame, is sent to investigate, and it doesn’t look like things go well from there. No release date has been set for the thriller, but it looks to be among the year’s more chilling offerings at the cinema.

Stay tuned for more info on Morgan and other sci-fi thrillers heading our way.
