Ahead of an exclusive DirecTV release in September, here we get our first look at Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo’s Texas Chainsaw Massacre prequel, Leatherface. As could be expected, the initial trailer is a blood-filled onslaught, complete with the familiar mask made from human skin, Sawyer family dinners and more.
Here the story centers around a quartet of escaped mental inmates played by Jessica Madsen, Sam Coleman, Sam Strike and James Bloor. The murder mayhem kicks off when the sadistic party kidnaps a young nurse (Vanessa Grasse), as local law enforcement (Finn Jones and Stephen Dorff) then attempts to get to the bottom of the heinous crimes. Dorff’s character, Hal Hartman, is particularly connected to the case, ultimately finding himself on a revenge-fueled mission to stop the killer who will later be referred to as Leatherface.
Following the aforementioned DirecTV release on September 21, Leatherface will see a limited theatrical run in October.
