If you’re of the persuasion that mother! is a cinematic powerhouse to be admired rather than repelled, then The Killing of a Sacred Deer will be right up your street. The upcoming thriller has stunned those lucky enough to catch early preview screenings, and now a second teaser has dropped to whet the appetite even further.

Directed by The Lobster‘s Yorgos Lanthimos, the oddball flick sees Collin Farrell assume the role of Steven Murphy, a heart surgeon who finds himself befriending an extremely weird teenage boy named Martin (who you may recognize as Dunkirk‘s Barry Keoghan). As the trailer portends, the relationship doesn’t pan out well, with Steven’s family suddenly placed in mysterious danger.

Critics have been forthright in their opinions of the movie so far and it currently sits with a positive score of 80 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. Not everyone has been impressed, however, with some going as far to describe it as “pure and simple sadism.”

Watch above, and catch the movie on November 3.
