La La Land was one of 2016’s most successful films, racking up no less than six Oscars after being nominated for 14 of them. Seven Golden Globes followed leaving no doubt that the movie was an absolute hit.

While still early in its box office run, Blade Runner 2049 looks to be 2017’s version of La La Land and, with Ryan Gosling starring in both movies, a tech-savvy fan has combined the two films to create a trailer to what he calls La La Land 2049.

And it’s amazing. Thanks to the trailer, we now know how desperately the world needed a sci-fi musical starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling. Too bad we're probably never going to get it.
