12 years after shutting down the Lower East Side in one of New York City’s most infamous sneaker riots, Jeff Staple has reworked his original “Pigeon” Dunk SBs to release a blacked-out version of the shoe that many would say kickstarted the sneaker craze we know today.

Highsnobiety was on scene for the release at New York’s Extra Butter to check out the line and see if people were copping to rock, stock or resell. We even managed to talk to the man himself, Jeff Staple, about what this re-release means to him and to the sneaker world in general.

The line was long but much less rabid this time around, and those lucky enough to get their hands on the blacked-out “Pigeon” SBs left feeling more than satisfied with their purchase.

Watch above and then check out the six sneakers Japanese designer SNEAKERWOLF is wearing right now.
