Tom Sachs really can do anything. He made arguably the best NFT yet, he also makes pretty wild furniture, art — obviously, and can count his Nike collaborations as some of the most grailed releases from the brand. His latest task? To try to make us all buy boring kicks.

The Tom Sachs x Nikecraft General Purpose Shoe debuted on June 10, 2022 in its original neutral colorway and has since been released in a bold yellow iteration, and Field Brown, too. Each pair has been designed not to be the most exciting thing about you, to remind us all that our shoes are simply tools that do their job so that we can do ours. It’s a fun message, but actually quite a radical one in 2023.

Despite being marketed as a boring shoe and urging us to see footwear as a functional thing rather than a hype-building exercise, all pairs have sold out upon release. That’s part and parcel of a release by one of the sneaker world’s favorite artists, though.

For those who wanted to buy for the original $109.99 price point, this is, unfortunately, the final act. But, for those of us willing to free up a little more budget to buy a pair of boring shoes, there are still a few opportunities to lay claim to a pair of Tom Sachs x Nikecraft General Purpose Shoes. Namely, resale sites.

We’ve browsed the top resale sites online to give you a second chance. We know all too well that second chances don’t come often, and it’s worth getting in there before these kicks take on any more significance; a look at the prices of Tom Sachs’ previous Nike releases is enough to make the eyes water.
