[UPDATE: December 13, 9:26 a.m. EST] Official sources have retracted their previous statement and instead are saying the collaboration is indeed official and available at Urban Outfitters. The production is a one-off and features similar designs that Rubchinskiy had already created for Mumiy Troll’S 20th anniversary project.

The collection launches in select Urban Outfitters stores across North America on Friday, December 15 and online at urbanoutfitters.com on Monday, December 18.

[UPDATE: November 13 8:38 a.m. EST] Official sources have told us that the products in question are in fact fakes and were produced without Gosha Rubchinskiy’s approval.

Gosha Rubchinskiy has officially hit the mainstream — the designer’s brand can now be found at Urban Outfitters and at Zumiez.

In a Reddit thread posted last night, a user shared pictures of a Gosha Rubchinskiy x Mumiy Troll T-shirt that he bought at Urban Outfitters — along with a receipt as proof.

The collaboration with Mumiy Troll, a Russian pop group that the designer grew up listening to, is also available at Zumiez’s online store, with three exclusive T-shirts being offered.

Zumiez and Urban Outfitters are not the type of stores one would normally associate with the brand, especially when you consider that Urban Outfitters has been stocking Gosha Rubchinskiy ripoffs for the past year.

Whether this will damage Rubchinskiy’s reputation remains to be seen. Thus far, only the Mumiy Troll capsule collection has been found in the two stores, with main-line Gosha still only available in higher-end boutiques. Might it be excess stock purchased from retailers like Dover Street Market?

Shop the capsule below. Would you still rock Gosha?
