Editor’s Notes: Michael Jordan was known for many things on the court: his high-flying athleticism, lockdown defense, killer instinct, AND, rapid chewing of gum. The latter serves as the inspiration for an all-new colorway of the Air Jordan 1 High OG, which is rumored to arrive in December.

After being teased late last year, insider @zsneakerheadz has come through with our first legitimate look at the Air Jordan 1 "Atmosphere" colorway. Reportedly inspired by MJ's affinity for bubble gum, the iconic silhouette is decked out with pink accents to mimic the GOAT's candy of choice. Both smooth and patent leather come together on the upper of the Jordans, as hits of obsidian and white are paired with laser pink. Color-blocked in the same manner as the "Bred Toe" 1s, we then see customary branding hits emerge on the side in the form of the Swoosh logo and at the collar where the ball and wings insignia appears.

While Jordan Brand has yet to confirm the inspiration for the pair, it certainly makes sense with the pink detailing and considering Michael was known to ferociously chew gum in the middle of games, even going so far as to blow bubbles in the process. According to @zsneakerheadz, the Air Jordan 1 High OG "Atmosphere" will release as a women's colorway on December 22 of this year. However, you'll want to keep it locked here for confirmation from the brand. In the meantime, be sure to check out 2021's best Air Jordan 1 High colorways.
