Brand: Paris Saint-Germain x Nike
Model: Air Jordan 1 “PSG”
Key Features: The Air Jordan 1 features a black upper with red and white detailing on both the white midsole and Nike tag on the tongue. PSG’s team logo is then featured on the back of the tongue label, while the insole reads “ici c’est Paris,” which translates “here is Paris.”
Release Date: November 6
Editor’s Notes: After dropping most of their co-branded collection in mid-September, Jordan Brand and Paris Saint-Germain are back with the second Air Jordan from the pack, the Nike Air Jordan 1 “PSG.”
The Air Jordan 5 proved to be popular with sneakerheads, selling out instantly upon release. Don’t bet against the Air Jordan 1 following suit.
While maybe a surprise to some, the Jordan x PSG collaboration has been brewing for some time and makes sense for two big reasons. First, Jordan Brand is owned by Nike, which produces PSG’s kits, making this a natural extension of said partnership. In addition, Jordan Brand’s presence, and basketball generally, in Paris has been growing by the year thanks to events such as the Quai 54 World Streetball Championship and Michael Jordan’s first visit to the city in 1985.
Speaking about the partnership with PSG, His Airness himself commented, “Jordan Brand and Paris Saint-Germain share a distinct position in sport and style, so to partner with the club is a natural fit.”
Paris Saint-Germain’s Air Jordan 1 drops through Nike SNKRS today, November 6, for a retail price of $160.
