What is officially going to be the most fly baby in the universe has been born, and A$AP Rocky's first sighting since the birth welcomes a new era of fatherhood 'fits.

The likes of David Beckham, Kanye West, and Joe Jonas are used to topping best-dressed father lists, but they can now expect to be beaten to the top spot by Pretty Flacko.

Heading to the studio almost three weeks after the birth, the artist was seen wearing a vintage Diana Ross T-shirt topped with a Kapital Pillow Peace Faux Sherpa Jacket, that retailed for a cool $1019, and jeans with criss-cross cut-outs along the side. His biggest statement, however, was made on foot with a pair of fluffy Loewe boots from the FW22 men's collection.

It's a pair that we've seen the artist wear before. While on stage at a Bilt Rewards X Wells Fargo Launch Event, he wore the oversized winter boots with a pair of checkered shorts, a hoodie, and a varsity jacket.

No matter how he styles them, the shoes prove to be a garish choice. However, I remember when the rapper had us all wearing long johns under Pyrex Vision shorts or when he convinced us to tie silk scarves around our faces to create a babushka, so I've learned it's better to go along with his fashion choices than to question them.

After all, big boots are enjoying a moment in the spotlight. We've already had Ye and his bulky muck boots and the Y2K-inspired return of Moon Boot, so it was slightly inevitable that the advent of Spring would bring some interesting fits as people try to keep their boots in rotation, despite the rising temperatures.

We've established that pairing shorts and a hoodie is a spring styling staple, and he has taken things one step further by throwing a varsity jacket on over the top and adding winter boots.

Rocky is of course far from being the first person to recently experiment with shorts and boots (you only have to scroll through the gram of Bloody Osiris or go to the highly-memed fit pic of Gunna in Rick Owens to see that), however, as our craving for chunky boots is only increasing, it's something I'm sure we're about to see a lot more of.

Experimenting with how we would combine shorts with boots this spring, we've created three outfits inspired by Rocky's recent looks. After all, if you can't beat them join them.

Scroll down to see how we style boots and shorts.

Rocky inspired

Stealing styling inspiration directly from the man himself, this look includes a varsity jacket from our collection with Jacob & Co., the New York jeweler that Rocky recently visited in Nigo's new music video. For footwear, a pair of UGG boots from the brand's Denim Tears collaboration is a perfect replacement for the yet-to-be-released Loewe boots.

A spaceman in spring

Moon Boots are not just for exploring in the mountains on a ski holiday, just ask Dua Lipa who paired a fluffy pair with nothing but lingerie. Taking Rocky's advice and opting for a varsity jacket on top, we've kept things playful with JW Anderson's strawberry-printed chino shorts.
