ASICSTIGER, Foot Locker Europe and the creative agency Visionarism unveiled the fruits of 12 months of collaborative work, showcasing the new HyperGEL-LYTE and HyperGEL-KAN at Foot Locker’s new flagship address at Marble Arch.

Exclusive to Foot Locker, the HyperGEL-LYTE and HyperGEL-KAN are based on the traditional Japanese ‘Sumi stroke’ art technique and build off the "urban ninja" philosophy of Visionarism co-founders, Thierry Tek and Ste Wing.

Sneakerheads were treated to a panel talk and special Q&A session hosted by legendary sneakerhead Kish Kash, as ASICSTIGER design team members Milton Cato and Hiroyuki Ogi and Visionarism’s Tek and Wing discussed their design philosophy and the creative journey that created the sneakers. Spearheaded by Foot Locker Europe, Tek and Wing travelled to Foot Locker’s original home turf in NYC to learn about the retailer’s unique history before then heading to ASICTIGER’s global headquarters in Kobe, Japan—bookended by a visit to Tokyo to shoot the sneaker’s lookbook and press material.

"We wanted to contribute to the sneaker community by creating ASICS silhouettes that represent us and our culture," explaned Tek, Visionarism co-founder and Managing Director and Wing, co-founder and Creative Director. "We’re so grateful for being able to see our vision come to life at Foot Locker and this project is the proof that if you work hard, and always swing for the fences, anything is possible."

New for the HyperGEL-KAN model, ASICSTIGERS x Visionarism x Foot Locker’s version introduces an external heel counter for protection and increased support. Meanwhile, the HyperGEL-LYTE keeps everything we know and love about the shoe, but adding a lighter midsole for comfort.

Sneaker fans eager to get their hands on the brand new ASICSTIGER HyperGEL collection can visit footlocker.eu or select Foot Locker stores across Europe.
