What We’re Saying: Balenciaga's Track Sneaker has taken many forms in its relatively short lifespan. After morphing into a hiking boot and slide — among other variations — the athletic model now appears in mule form.

Simply dubbed the Track Mule, the Balenciaga slip-on incorporates many of the design elements found on the original Track Sneaker, all while showcasing an open back build. The upper is constructed from nylon and mesh, and features the signature interwoven elements throughout. Below, attention is drawn to the dynamic sole design with an augmented back, which is meant to propel the foot forward.

The size of the shoe is noted on the edge of the toe, while Balenciaga branding emerges with "BB" embossed on the front of the outsole, "Balenciaga" embossed on the tongue, and "Balenciaga" printed on the side. The Track Sneaker's familiar double laces then accompany the pair to complete the backless design.

As many of us have been largely confined to our homes for more than a year, slip-on shoes — and mules in particular — have become the go-to WFH footwear of choice.
