It’s common knowledge that Havaianas are slip-on royalty, but what makes them so popular? The Brazilian legends have become an iconic household name since 1962, and it can’t just be for the durability of their footwear.

Well for starters, they’re not just your average Joe, aka those scuffy flip-flops you pull out of storage each summer. The brand has managed to turn slip-ons into enviable fashion items with exciting releases — and their youthful summer collection is the exact motivation we need to level up our footwear game this summer.

In their first of a kind celebrity collaboration with ‘Euphoria’ favorite Barbie Ferreira, Havaianas have dropped nine fresh styles of sandals and flip flops. This is a special collaboration for Ferreira, thanks to her personal connection to the brand and their shared Brazilian heritage: “to me, it signifies so much of my culture and my family and Brazil in general.” Ferreira got to co-design the entire collection, drawing ideas from creative elements that felt authentic to her American-Brazilian upbringing.

The color palette of earthy browns, vibrant yellows, and greens takes us on a journey through art, murals, sun-kissed plains and tropical paradises from Brazil’s rich and historic country and culture. There’s really something for everyone in this collection— the pink or copper slides, and two-tone flip flops cater to those of you that like to keep it clean, whilst other lighthearted patterns in tasty colorways will satisfy your more playful side.

One of our favorites from the collection features a geometric layout of black, brown and green on the soles, with a caramel brown thong to bring it all together. Take a page from Ferreira’s book and style them up with flowy skirts and snatched dresses, or style them down with an oversized tee or beach cover-up - the whole collection is very versatile, so you really can’t mess it up.

By now, you should already be planning your trip to Brazil, and you can start by grabbing yourself a pair from  the Barbie Ferreira x Havaianas collection at Havaianas.com.
