It’s been near-on ten years since Blink-182 last performed live together but it's now been confirmed that the American trio is making its long-awaited return a little sooner than we thought at this year’s Coachella festival.

The band — who announced their reunion tour midway through last year — will be making a surprise last minute appearance at the Californian shindig which gets underway this weekend after receiving the call-up to appear in the Sahara tent on Friday April 14 between 18:45-19:35 (PST).

Now, I don’t know about you, but as an avid Coachella non-carer, Blink’s sudden inclusion at the festival has piqued my interest somewhat, so much so I might even tune in to witness the big reunion live and direct.

Of course, a Blink-182 rekindling has been on the cards since a big announcement last year. Tom DeLonge, Travis Barker, and Mark Hoppus are set to embark on a global tour come May 2023, but thanks to Coachella are giving fans a little taste of what to expect.

Here’s what I’m expecting: an immediate transportation back to my pop-punk school days, which was all sideways caps and cropped Dickies. Well, that but Barker is head-to-toe in Vetements rather than Hurley.

Blink-182 will be joined by names like BLACKPINK, Burna Boy, Bad Bunny, Gorillaz, and deadmau5, with reports THE Weeknd could also be another late addition.

But, as anyone in their right mind will now know, if you have your wits about you the only thing you’ll now be arsed about seeing this entire Coachella is a classic DeLonge guitar jump and watching a frantically drumming Barker who will, of course, be topless, from afar. Standard.
