Highsnobiety

As with many creative industries, 2020 has changed the face of fashion. And whether for better or for worse, there isn't a brand on the planet that won't have considered taking a new approach to design, production, and its runway shows. Despite us being in such trying times, there are certain labels that are still thriving and getting attention this year — both new names in the arena and established brands that are going from strength to strength.

To help keep your finger on the pulse, we've put together a list of the labels that are owning 2020, from Marine Serre to BODE. And with the help of Farfetch, we've picked out some of their highlight new pieces you can get your hands on right now.

Scroll on for our favorite pieces by the brands owning 2020.

Marine Serre Logo Cap

Marine Serre's upside-down crescent moon was the logo of 2019 and it's here to stay. In Beyoncé's recently-released Black Is King video, the artist is seen donning a Marine Serre moon all-in-one, catapulting the French designer into further global stardom. If you're not brave enough for the bodysuit, though, this cap featuring Marine's signature logo is an easy way to flaunt one of 2020's hottest brands.

Brain Dead Hoodie

$200
Buy at Farfetch

Unlike so many names in fashion, Brain Dead collections tend to be influenced by what is actually happening in the world. Never afraid to voice a stance, either, Brain Dead impressed this year by raising more than $500,000 for charities supporting Black Lives Matter via the sale of a one-off T-shirt. This loud green hoodie is a prime example of Brain Dead's fun approach to graphic play.

Vaquera Shirt Jacket

$339
Buy at Farfetch

A relatively new name on the fashion circuit, New York-based Vaquera already boasts a list of impressive feats. Anna Wintour is a fan, it collaborated with streaming giant Hulu, and was a finalist at the CFDA fashion awards, to name just a few of them. Its presence is only being solidified in 2020, and simple but well-tailored pieces like this western-style jacket suggest why.

1017 ALYX 9SM Utility Vest

$465
Buy at Farfetch

You'll no doubt have heard of 1017 ALYX 9SM, but Matthew M. William's utility-driven label garnered more attention this year after the designer was named the new creative director at Givenchy. Time will tell how and if this has an effect on his own brand, but we're excited for it to play out. Invest in what ALYX does best with this zipped technical vest.

BODE Embroidered Trousers

$2080

One of our personal favorites, BODE continues to garner the attention of serious shoppers. Nominated for a CFDA award this year, Emily Bode is one of menswear's greatest young designers and continues to make new fans worldwide. With a focus on repurposing and upcycling materials, BODE feels wholly of the moment.

Jacquemus Shoulder Bag

Most runway shows were off the agenda this year, particularly those happening indoors. To counter this lack of IRL design display, Simon Porte Jacquemus took his show to the fields of France once again, leading to a runway show with viral results. The collection shown within the wheat isn't available yet, but here's another piece from the brand's standout accessories range, one of its signature categories.

Salomon XT-6 ADV Sneakers

$133
Buy at Farfetch

Salomon sneakers are by no means a new feature of the front row. But with restocks of its crazy-popular silhouettes such as the XT-Wings 2 still selling out at high speed, it looks like the tech shoe brand is only going to get bigger in 2020.

HOKA ONE ONE Elevon 2

Like Salomon, HOKA ONE ONE's full foray into the fashion world is now complete. It shows no signs of slowing down, either, having been sported by famous faces the world over, during running sessions and when simply heading to the grocery store. The Elevon is one of 2020's best-cushioned sneakers and arrives here in this sleek dark colorway.

AMBUSH Shirt

Having worked on accessories with Kim Jones at Dior, Yoon Ahn carries on collaborating in 2020. Following a joint-effort project with Uniqlo earlier this year, and a delayed Nike Olympics capsule, for obvious reasons, AMBUSH has more collections with Converse planned in 2020, as well as a team-up with Beats. The designer's list of huge global collaborators suggests that the brand is born to take on the world.

Fear of God Hoodie

FEAR OF GODEveryday Raised-Logo Cotton Hoodie
$690

Jerry Lorenzo's ESSENTIALS line remains one of the most popular streetwear labels in the world right now, with drops going faster than you can say I need new staples. Far easier to cop, this piece from Fear of God is luxe basics at its best.
