Kicking off New York Fashion Week, Carmelo Anthony is teaming up with Jordan and rag & bone for a collection of ready-to-wear garments and accessories for his brand Melo Made. The brand itself serves as an ongoing series of brand collaborations featuring pieces designed by the NBA all-star.

Split into two limited-edition capsules, Anthony worked with rag & bone and Jordan Brand on a collection of sneakers and tee-shirts, in addition to a separate five-piece apparel collection with rag & bone. For the sneaker collaboration, rather than choosing an earlier retro model, they decided on the Air Jordan XX, a silhouette they feel is underrated.

“I think that it was a bit ahead of its time, but the shoe was always cool,” says Carmelo Anthony. “This is a shoe I liked when I saw it, but it didn’t get its fair moment. I wanted to bring it back, rework it and re-introduce it to the market.”

Marcus Wainwright adds, “I wanted to take something that was essentially iconic, but make it current, maintain the originality of it.”

The Air Jordan XX collab features a Flyknit upper and carefully blends rag & bone’s design philosophy with Anthony’s personal style in the two available colorways – black featuring rag & bone’s exclusive camo print and an army version with a pop-orange neck tape along the back collar.

In addition to the sneaker, a run of “7” tee-shirts, paying homage to Melo’s NBA jersey number, will also be sold by Jordan Brand and rag & bone. The classic Jordan silhouettes as well as the entire Melo Made collaboration will be revealed on Thursday, September 13 at NYFW with an interactive presentation. The rag & bone x Jordan Brand x Melo and rag & bone x Carmelo Anthony capsules will launch later this month.
