Brand: Dr. Martens x PLEASURES

Season: SS19

Key Pieces: The shoes and T-shirt are the solid standouts.

Editor’s Notes: Dr. Martens has aligned with Los Angeles-based streetwear label PLEASURES for the first time ever to create an exclusive capsule this season that blends the rock-inspired roots of Dr. Martens and streetwear vibes of PLEASURES. The drop includes two iterations of Dr. Martens’ signature shoes: the Quad Retro sole style and 1461, in addition to a T-shirt and a pair of socks.

With the silhouettes’ main color consisting of black, the pieces are defined by distinctive motifs and design elements. The Quad Retro sole style is adorned with a ’90s industrial music-inspired tribal graphic, along with studs and checkerboard laces. The 1461 on the other hand, is detailed with an eye-catching teeth motif and the word “NOW” emblazoned on the heel. The shoes are also detailed with Dr. Martens’s signature usage of lurid green and neon orange tones, evident on the branded pull tabs and co-branding on the insoles.

In regards to the T-shirt and socks, the tee bears the same teeth motif in white, along with Pleasures branding, while the socks are detailed with the slogan “Today is the first day of your new life,” in orange. It’s also worth noting that the tee and socks will be sold online only.

Shop the collaborative capsule on Dr. Martens’ website beginning February 23.
