Double Tap to Zoom

2020 has been a trying year in general, but the ramifications on the arts have been especially devastating. As concerts and festivals around the world continue to face cancellation and many artists struggle to make ends meet, Highsnobiety has teamed up with the iconic Newport Jazz Festival for an online charitable musical program to raise money for musicians affected by the pandemic.

Introducing Highsnobiety Jazz TV: a three-day content experience that will turn our digital platform into a public access television station dedicated to the art form of jazz. The program will feature a line-up of performances, DJ sets, and panels from across the worlds of music and fashion, including Virgil Abloh, Alex Da Kid, Tremaine Emory, Ali Shaheed Muhammad, and many more.

Jazz has always served as an unwavering beacon for creative freedom across the worlds of fashion and design. Highsnobiety Jazz TV is a celebration of this musical boundary-breaking and the power of creativity, even in trying times, and we're sharing the moment with our community.

“Especially at such a politically charged time, where public life has been interrupted, we wanted Jazz TV to create a ‘global living room’ where the creative community could enjoy and share the music that inspires us,” says Highsnobiety Editor-in-Chief Thom Bettridge. “So many artists from so many fields owe such a creative debt to jazz, so our aim was to give back even just a tiny fraction of that void we feel without having live music in the world.”

Highsnobiety Jazz TV is a love letter to creativity, and we're marking the occasion with an exclusive merch drop, encompassing tees, hoodies, baseball caps, and tote bags. The collection debuts on the Highsnobiety Shop today, October 26, with a portion of all proceeds going to the Newport Festival Musician Relief Fund, which is providing financial relief to musicians in the folk and jazz communities experiencing loss of income as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Highsnobiety Jazz TV premiers today, running through to October 28. Head over to our dedicated Jazz TV hub for all the exciting performances and talks, as well as the chance to donate to this worthy cause. In the meantime, check out the merch below.
