There's A Thousand Ways To Style A Hoodie But Here Are Our Favorites
To say a hoodie is a wardrobe essential is an understatement.
You can find hoodies literally everywhere: from the streetwear start-up that your friend is promoting down the road to the Met Gala. A fallout from the merging of high fashion and streetwear that has come to define contemporary fashion is that the hoodie has only become more important.
While it might have been met with connotations of slobbishness and low fashion in previous generations, a hoodie today can easily fetch prices in the thousands of dollars and is by no means only casual wear — it has been on the haute couture runway after all.
Of course, with so many different labels putting their focus on hoodies there are a number of options on the market and a number of ways that they can be styled. Whether it be under a host of layers in the winter, along with shorts in the summer, or as a statement-making graphic centerpiece to your look, they can be incorporated into almost any style or season.

Under a body warmer
You don't need us to tell you that a hoodie is the perfect layering tool. Throw a gilet over the top for added warmth and it's a tried-and-tested winning winter look.
With matching sneakers
This one kind of goes without saying, color-matching your hoodie and sneakers has been a styling method used by streetwear OG's for years. But for it to look good, and not like every hypebeast in the 2010s, isn't easy. Tyler manages to make it work here by opting for a classic shoe in the form of the Clarks Wallabee.
Part of an all-black look
Ye is apparently the proprietor of the "perfect hoodie" (along with GAP) and his latest all-black uniform has often included that hoodie (and a balaclava). Wearing an all-black outfit has always been a statement and it's only becoming more prevalent this year, so make sure you have an array of black hoodies at the ready.
Under a flannel shirt
A flannel shirt is an essential item in any wardrobe and wearing one under a hoodie means that you can wear one in the winter chill. Someone who has been doing this since the 2010s, nobody is able to make this combination work better than A$AP Rocky.
Complimenting your leather outerwear
Lyst has reported a 32% increase in demand for leather trench coats since December and it's a material that we are tipping to keep on getting more popular this year. A divisive material, keeping things simple by matching your rockstar leather jacket with a hoodie is the perfect palette cleanser.
Paired with shorts
One for the transitional season, get some more wear out of your favorite shorts by pairing them with a hoodie. This look by Jonah Hill had us all excited back in 2017 and it continues to show how good hoodies and shorts can look.
With a long coat
Bathrobes seem to be having a bit of a moment, first, we had the Bottega Veneta one that A$AP Rocky wore and then there's this outfit from Kid Cudi. We can't think of anything cozier for the winter than wearing a bathrobe-esque long coat we paired up with our favorite hoodie.
