SoHo had a bit of a contraction last week, and by that, something major was about to be born. CYBEX officially welcomed its first New York City flagship into the world at 127 Greene Street, and the delivery was smooth, chic, and surprisingly well-hydrated with cocktails. Who says parents can't have a nightlife? Certainly not this crowd.
Inside the 2,300 square foot boutique, the Cast-Iron District’s DNA mixed with CYBEX’s own design sensibilities. Steel columns saluted the neighborhood’s history while reflections of glass bounced like Manhattan’s version of baby mobiles. Beige tones wrapped the space like a very elegant swaddle, and gold racks gleamed with the quiet confidence of a parent who finally found a stroller that folds with one hand.
The full CYBEX lineup was on display, from strollers that look runway-ready to car seats and furniture that could probably double as sculpture. Every product carried the brand’s signature design, safety, and functionality principle, also known as the trifecta that keeps both parents and children from melting down. The bold collections made in collaboration with fashion guru Jeremy Scott made an appearance too, giving the boutique a whisper of heavenly drama.
As the night progressed, the store transitioned from serene vibes to full-blown parents-night-out energy, where no one was on “time-out.” Mona Matsuoka took over the speakers with beats that soundtracked the night. Guests like Chanel Iman, Georgia Fowler, Tiffany Reid, Julia Lang, Amrit Tietz, and Darren Graham, among other friends of the brand, were adorned in their best attire and floated through the space with iridescent cocktails in hand.
Then the moment arrived. Cardi B stepped in. The ultimate Mother made her first public appearance since giving birth earlier that week, radiant and full of energy. Cameras clicked. People whispered. The strollers practically posed themselves. She joined CYBEX founder Martin Pos for a tour of the newly minted boutique and took part in the ceremonial ribbon-cutting while bringing her signature energy and charisma to the event.
By the time the final toasts were raised, it was clear that CYBEX had done more than open a store. It had created a little sanctuary for stylish caregivers everywhere. A place where design girls, new dads, seasoned moms, and anyone living in a state of organized chaos could gather and feel…seen. Feel part of the CYBEX community at the fullest. Parents might not get a full eight hours of sleep, but on nights like this, they absolutely get to bask in their life. After all, this is the city that never sleeps.
