Kerwin Frost is adidas’ most interesting collaborator, and it’s not even close. The creative recently shared the first look at his latest collaborative Three Stripes sneaker, which is — surprisingly — not the wildest in his ever-growing collection.

Frost has reworked the adidas Microbounce T1, one of adidas’ more divisive silhouettes that was originally released in the ’00s before being discontinued and whose bulbous midsole reminds strongly of Nike Shox cushioning. Frost isn’t the first Three Stripes partner to collaborate on adidas Microbounce, with OAMC giving it its best shot in 2021 with a range of colorways.

Whereas OAMC’s colorways were very muted, Frost’s effort is characteristically bold, featuring a blue furry upper and cartoony Kerwin Frost branding on the shoe’s tongue. The furry upper could have easily been inspired by Monster Inc.’s Sulley, for all of those old enough to remember the movie. Reflective silver detailing is applied to the Three Stripes branding, adding yet another layer of opulence to an already-eye-catching shoe.

Frost has not shared release details just yet, though those are likely to follow soon given the timeline of his previous drops. Stay tuned for updates and, in the meantime, check out the sneaker in all its glory above.
