With multiple Star Wars projects on the way, Disney has confirmed that film producer and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige is working on a new Star Wars movie. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Feige will develop the Star Wars picture with Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy.
“We are excited about the projects Kathy and the Lucasfilm team are working on, not only in terms of Star Wars but also Indiana Jones and reaching into other parts of the company including Children of Blood and Bone with Emma Watts and Fox,” Walt Disney Studios co-chairman and chief creative officer Alan Horn told to The Hollywood Reporter. “With the close of the Skywalker Saga, Kathy is pursuing a new era in Star Wars storytelling, and knowing what a die-hard fan Kevin is, it made sense for these two extraordinary producers to work on a Star Wars film together.”
Little details have been given surrounding Feige's Star Wars project, but The Hollywood Reporter reports that he has already told an unnamed major actor that he has a specific role for them.
News of the impending Star Wars movie comes as The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson and Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss are also working on Star Wars projects. Additionally, Jon Favreau’s live-action series The Mandalorian is releasing on Disney+ in November.
