KITH

Ronnie Fieg and the GEL-Lyte 3 are like peanut butter and Nutella. Sure, they taste amazing on their own, but when combined on a freshly toasted slice of bread, the explosion of flavor is akin to a sensory overload. And that’s exactly what Kith and ASICS’ latest collaborative project is.

Celebrating the GEL-Lyte 3’s 30th anniversary, Fieg and ASICS have identified 30 of Kith’s most-used colors since its founding nine years ago and applied those to 30 colorways of the iconic GEL-Lyte 3. Each tonal colorway will drop in highly limited quantities (only 300 each).

The project has been aptly dubbed “The Palette” and blows every anniversary project ASICS has worked on this past year out of the water. Each colorway will be released on Black Friday, a day on which Fieg has traditionally restocked special projects from the past year.

According to Fieg’s Instagram post (below), detailed release information per colorway will be revealed soon. In the meantime, check out some of the content below and let us know which colorway is your favorite.

Early comments on Instagram seem to suggest a common theme among sneakerheads. Everyone thinks that this is a completely bonkers idea. Some likened the use of a color palette to what Kanye West has done with YEEZY and adidas on the YEEZY Boost 350 V2, which has been released in several near-identical colorways over the past few years.
