Funny woman Melissa McCarthy is starring in New Line Cinema’s upcoming comedy directed by Ben Falcone, dubbed Life of the Party.
McCarthy portrays Deanna, a longtime housewife who gets dumped when her husband finds a younger, more attractive partner. Realizing her life is at a crossroads, Deanna decides there's only one thing left for her to do, return to college. The only issue, she ends up in the same circle as her daughter.
Regardless of how much her child objects, Deanna insists on getting the full college experience, from frat parties to weed edibles and beyond.
McCarthy, who co-wrote the screenplay with Falcone, stars alongside Gillian Jacobs, Maya Rudolph, Julie Bowen, Matt Walsh, Molly Gordon, Stephen Root, Jacki Weaver, Jessie Ennis, Adria Arjona, Debby Ryan, and Jimmy O. Yang in Life of the Party, which lands in theaters May 11.
