The past few years have seen our in-house label get experimental with its knitwear, from fluffy alpaca fabrics to almost-luminous colorways, but our latest drop takes things one step further.
Having been drawn to the fashion tribes of New York City, especially during the late 20th century, as inspiration for our designs, our latest drop comes with loose-knit pieces that borrow style sensibilities from that era.
Fusing elements of grunge fashion while keeping an eye on the androgynous dress of bands such as the New York Dolls, the selection of vests and sweaters are an updated and refined take on the distressed, often-thrifted styles worn by NYC's sartorial icons from years gone by.
With a roomy knit that lends the spotlight to anything worn beneath it, the fuzzy alpaca-blend fabric delivers added texture to the boxy-fitting tops.
"This season, we're playing more with silhouettes," says Nin Truong, Design Director for the Highsnobiety brand. "We're looking at different ways of how the silhouette interacts with the body, especially with loose gauge [fabrics]. The sweater vests feel almost like tank tops to a certain extent."
The sweater vests come in two striped colorways with a V-neckline, while the loose-knit sweaters take a more minimal approach, offering subtle contrast detailing on the neck and cuff. But they are not the only cozy designs available from our latest drop.
